Oedipals (2015)

Oedipals explores the emotional collaboration between twins as we attempt to reverse the splitting of birth by becoming one complete, synchronous subject. Bordering on incest as our bodies bond in these intimate actions, this hybrid identity breaks down as each of our individual gestures begin to manifest under the influence of their growing fatigue.

In appropriating these rituals of hygiene, Oedipals also reflects upon the deeply affective potential of the private performances we make every day. The public performance of these gestures evokes an experience of the abject which reveals the repression of our bodily functions, even in matters of hygiene and decency.
